Siraf which is today known as Taheri port stretches for some 4 kilometers along the Persian Gulf coast. It was one of the key centers of Persia’s marine trade in the first century Hejira. Evidence of ancient trade relations between Persia and China has been found in the historical remains of the area. Due to its remains from the Parthian and Sassanid times, the port plays a significant role in proving the Persian identity of the Persian Gulf.
